Empowering Girls through Self-Defense: Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation’s Initiative

In a commendable endeavor to empower and equip young women with the tools they need to protect themselves, the Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation held a training session at the Shri Sitaram Jaju Government Girls Post Graduate College, Neemuch on 16th October, 2023. The objective? To educate young women on self-defense, crime prevention, and personal safety.

Under the expert guidance of trainers Ashish ji and Mohan ji, the students were introduced to basic techniques and measures to guard themselves against unforeseen threats. They emphasized the importance of awareness, vigilance, and proactive measures to minimize vulnerability to potential threats.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed members of the organization, including the President, Mr. Santosh ji Chopra, Treasurer Gajendra Sharma, and Secretary Vinod ji. While addressing the students, Mr. Chopra shed light on the organization’s achievements. Remarkably, the Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation has imparted self-defense training to approximately four lakh girls and women throughout the state and country. Mr. Chopra proudly stated that these trainees, through regular practice, have the opportunity to bring laurels to themselves and their families by competing in various competitions organized by the foundation.

Highlighting the foundation’s expansive reach, Mr. Chopra mentioned that they have organized events in several prominent districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Indore, Bhopal, and Gwalior.

In a unique addition to the day’s proceedings, the foundation’s Legal Advisor, Sunil G Patel, accompanied by his wife, provided a valuable session on ‘Good Touch Bad Touch,’ shedding light on the importance of understanding personal boundaries and respecting consent.

Mr. Vinod Irwar, Secretary of the Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and also spotlighted the foundation’s commendable work in promoting education among underprivileged children, especially those from labor backgrounds. Sharing future plans, Erwar revealed that the foundation aims to extend its educational endeavors across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. They will employ a selective process, focusing on the education of children from impoverished, labor-intensive, and marginalized families.

The successful event concluded with the college principal, Dr. N.K. Dabkara, selecting teachers for future training. Alongside the college staff, the entire team of Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation Neemuch and representatives from Sanwalia Job Consultancy, including Director Rakesh Mali, Chetan Ji Bhatt, and their team, graced the occasion.

By nurturing a sense of empowerment and self-worth among young women and the marginalized, the Sakshi Suraksha Welfare Foundation is playing a crucial role in building a safer, more inclusive society. Through their initiatives in both self-defense and education, they are crafting a brighter future for all.
